In the Age of Quarantine
Painting has become my main studio practice. I treat my paintings as material thoughts and language explorations with physical tools; they are a provocation to the conventional ways of painting. I build my abstract discourse using old and new ‘tools and symbols’, where concepts introduce structure and impulses to impose rhythm. I use strong colors, faded areas, geometry, visceral shapes, multiple layers, collage-like constructions, alterations and scratches - all infused with ludic energy and unrest. Anchored in today's visual and conceptual challenges, the works still keep an open dialogue with the 20th-century avant-garde. They are psychological landscapes of deep poetic transfer and elusive perception, inner howls of the present. Made of fragile poetic matter and raw energy, yet still conceptually purified, they are a manifest of my presence, my phenomenological efforts and personal ecology.
