In the “The threshold of uncertainty II” series Adrián Fernández continues with a creative line where he focuses his attention on the capacity of everyday objects to reveal ideological, aesthetic, identity and symbolic values. Here he maintains an interest in the everyday object, specifically that which is built and treasured for the purpose of religion (specifically Catholic religious cult). In this series he portrays the icon but not in the way it is conventionally displayed for worship. On enigmatic background and without revealing its true scale, he displays the back of the figure. That point of view shows the character in a position that brings him closer to the viewer and makes him vulnerable. This allows him to be appreciated with a greater degree of intimacy and humanity.
