Archive is a photographic series by Adrián Fernández from 2001. It presents decontextualized details of Havana that turn into abstract images. However, familiar textures can be recognized such as those of metal beams, wire, concrete and wood. It is remarkable the intention to highlight the richness of the material and its plastic qualities. It also shows a keen sensitivity to observe the architecture and its details. Archives emphasize the transitory condition of certain constructions either because they are half-built or in a state of decay. The group of photographs to which this work belongs has been rescued by the artist almost twenty years after its creation. He currently enhances them in line with his recent work.
